Germany has a rich techno tradition, just as it has a rich club culture (which at the moment is endangered by greedy capitalist interests, but that’s another story). In one of those clubs – the Douala to be specific – Marten Hørger secured a residency before he was even legally allowed to stay out at night. The kid was described by none other than techno legend Westbam as “the new Wunderkind of bass music”. And guess what: it is Marten Hørger who handpicked his five favorite free downloads to share them with the world on Crispy Crust Records.
Here’s some baby makin’ music for the weekend: The San Holo remix of Doja Cat‘s So High. When’s the last time you told your better half that she or gets you so high? Yes, it sounds cheesy, but then again: that is exactly how we like out pizza. Enjoy.
It’s hard to write this post as the hands are still trembling. What Brillz & Snails have done to Lil Boosie‘s Crazy quite frankly is just that: crazy. While the original has this intoxicated, hazy vibe to it, the Brillz & Snails bootleg feels like it will break through absolutely anything with the penetrating power of a wrecking ball.
Le Youth is known for bringing that classy 90s sound back to modern day dance floors. And while he perfectly lives up to his reputation with R E A L, you have to also love the Bixel Boys take on it. Check out the original after the jump
Now here’s a track that lives up to its name: Through The Roof by Hermitude feat. Young Tapz – a first sweet taste of what the Australian Duo has in store on their brand new album which is expected to drop in May. The song follows up the loose single Ukiyo which you can listen to below.
Diplo continues where he left off in 2014 with his weekly radio show Diplo & Friends on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Last Sunday the producer appeared on the first personal edition of the program to entertain the world for almost two hours with his unique mix of electronic, trap and rap music. We’re on our third way through, and still shaking our asses.
Rejoice, fellow lovers of the Crispy Crust. Today will go down in history as the day when the remarkable Lido decided to share all of his 2014 remixes compiled in one fantastic package of pure pleasure. They’re all on there (also the one above). What a fabulous gift by one of the most talented lads out there.
So much classy boom bap music has been flooding over from the US over the past couple of years. A lot of it was created by an ever growing breed of rappers and producers who seem to have made it their official business to bring the 90s back. On the forefront: Joey Bada$$ and Action Bronson, as well as Statik Selektah. The trio teamed up with Grammy nominated Elle Varner to give us “Run Op On Ya”. This song is the perfect basis for a chilled out Sunday evening.
We posted Maya Payne‘s If Only a couple of weeks ago. The talented 17 year old now followed up with some neat visuals to the song. Check out the official video after the jump.
