Magnum opus: Flume – Some Minds (Video)

Flume has done it again. The Australian sound wizard created a song by the name of Some Minds feat. lyrics by Miike Snow’s Andrew Wyatt. There’s really but one place where a video for this momentous work could have been shot: the Opera House in Sidney. Enjoy, friends.

“The video is the result of a collaboration between Flume, the Sydney Opera House and respected director Clemens Habicht (Tame Impala, Bloc Party, The Presets). It features dance and choreography from Australian Ballet member Callum Linnane. Granted exclusive access to the iconic Australian building, the shoot took place throughout the night one Saturday in April”, it says in the description.

We’re a bit sad to hear that those fancy moves weren’t executed by Flume himself (was anybody else reminded of the agents in Matrix when they take over another body?). But we also admit that he’s already done enough by producing this beautiful piece of music .

We first saw the video on Pitchforks YouTube. They even provide the lyrics by Andrew Wyatt:

In our home all day I waited for the change
Something warm that I could say
Somehow I don’t care
Though I love the clothes she wears
And I love her body bare
So I pray that it wont feel the same
Don’t think that I can’t see it in your eyes
Darling yeah we both knew it from the start
Some minds are better kept apart.
Here i pass the day in a most peculiar way
Watching ships out on the bay
And I swallow so hard
Am I too weak to fight
As the day becomes the night and I don’t want to be right
So i pray that it wont feel the same
Don’t think that I can’t see it in your eyes
Darling yeah we both knew it from the start
Some minds are better kept apart.
