We sent a couple of questions to William Black from Los Angeles to get to know him a bit better, and he kindly replied. Check out the interview after the jump.

I started producing back in 2012.

What kind of music did you grow up listening, what are your influences?
I grew up listening to a ton of different stuff, a lot of rock & hip hop. I’d say my influences come from artists like Seven Lions, Above & Beyond, Illenium & NGHTMRE.

What equipment and software do you use?
I’m on Ableton for production. I don’t have a crazy studio or anything, but I use Yamaha HS8s, an Akai Pro MAX49, and a Duet as an audio interface.

When it comes to plugins, some of my favorite ones are Massive, Serum, Volume Shaper and Little Alter Boy.

What do you want to achieve with your music?
I just want to be able to travel the world and emotionally impact as many people as I can with my  music.

Any label you would like to end up on?
I don’t think I’d ever want to sign with one label specifically. I’ve had releases on Sony Music, Ultra Records, Armada, and one coming out on DIM MAK May 9th

In what ways is the electronic music scene in Los Angeles special?
It’s pretty crazy here. There are just so many talented producers living in LA, you never know who you’re going to run into at a show.

Definitely pepperoni!

Anything else you would like to tell the world out there?
Look out for a ton of releases from me this year, including my debut EP in late 2017!
