Friends, as you know, the tremendous amount of music out there makes it hard – really hard – not to miss a gem every now and again. We know you trust us with filtering out the best of the best, but even we are occasionally overwhelmed by the sheer number of great tunes. Which is why today we introduce a new category called Lost and found, to honor stuff we missed the first time around.
The first slot in this new category is reserved for the Ganz remix of Odesza’s Say My Name feat. Zyra. It still riddles us, how we could have possibly overlooked this.
The first track of the long awaited Gemini EP by What So Not is finally here. It is also called Gemini and features atmospheric vocals by George Maple. This is it: one of the last What So Not tunes bearing the mark of Flume.
It’s insane what a little bit of Coco can do to an entire online world. Ed Sheeran recently gave us a very soulful rendition of what you may call the drug anthem of the century. And guess what: Ben Esser went to work on the Sheeran cover and flipped the entire thing in a way, only he could. This is potent stuff, ladies and gentlemen.
The homie Falk Schacht blessed us with a delicious mix, called Jeep Beats Vol.2. The journalist, DJ, hip-hop guru from Hannover curated a 36 course menu consisting of nothing but fine beats, sweet samples and pleasant melodies. Before you hit play though, we suggest you choose a moment when you “got nowhere to go”, as Miss Platnum sings on Berlin, one of the many special treats on Jeep Beats. Trust us, you won’t want to have to press pause.
You can tell that Major Lazer are building up expectations for their third album Peace is the mission which is set to drop in June. Not only did they unleash a brand new tune called Roll The Bass today. The trio also just released a video for the super smooth Lean On feat. MØ. Check it out after the jump.
